ISTANBUL
Paris prosecutor’s cybercrime unit announced Tuesday that they launched a search into the French premises of US tech billionaire Elon Musk's social media company X as part of an ongoing investigation.
Prosecutor's office said on social media that their cybercrime unit carried out a search into the French offices of the company, along with Europol and the cybercrime unit of the French police.
The search was part of an investigation opened in January 2025 into the platform's algorithmic operation.
Musk and X's former CEO, Linda Yaccarino, have been summoned for "voluntary hearings" on April 20 by the Paris Prosecutor's Office, according to broadcaster BFMTV.
The office also announced that they are leaving X and could continue communication on LinkedIn or Instagram.
