Names of hundreds serving at newly established 'Greek FBI' unit leaked online
Police union criticizes Citizen Protection Ministry over its ‘silence’ on issue

GUMULCINE, Greece
Names and the registration numbers of 554 Greek officers from the Directorate for Combating Organized Crime (DAOE) have been leaked online, local media reported on Thursday.
The DAOE, dubbed “Greek FBI,” was recently established in Greece to tackle organized crime.
According to the Greek daily Avgi, the names of DAOE officers serving in the capital city of Athens and the northern port city of Thessaloniki were leaked online.
The Union of Police Employees of Athens denounced the leak and criticized the Citizen Protection Ministry over its "silence" on the issue.
According to media reports, the ministry has launched an investigation into the incident.
