LONDON

A stabbing victim in Leicester, East Midlands of England, has been named as 20-year-old university student Khaleed Oladipo, police said Thursday.

In a statement, Leicestershire Police said that Khaleed Oladipo, 20, from London, died in hospital on Tuesday evening following an incident in Oxford Street, Leicester.

An 18-year-old suspect was arrested over the killing of Oladipo, who was living in Leicester and studying cybersecurity at De Montfort University.

"A post-mortem examination has been carried out and found that Mr Oladipo died as a result of a stab wound to the chest," said the police.

"We cannot begin to put into words how sad we are to have lost Khaleed. He was an extremely loved son, brother, uncle, boyfriend and friend," Oladipo’s family said in the statement.

The family said Oladipo was an Arsenal supporter, and they believe he was on his way home to watch the game later that night when he was stabbed and killed.
