Greece to sell ammunition to Ukraine via Czech Republic: Report

ATHENS

Greece plans to sell ammunition to Ukraine via the Czech Republic, local media reported Wednesday.

The package, worth €150 million ($162 million) and drawn from stocks of the Greek Armed Forces, was approved by a parliamentary committee, said the Huffington Post Greece news outlet.

Saying the transaction will proceed soon under an agreement between Greece and the Czech Republic, it noted that 155-millimeter shells, 105-millimeter tank rounds and anti-tank mines are included in the package.

In late February, Greece’s parliament approved the transfer of 32 World War II-era M101A1 howitzers to Ukraine via the Czech Republic.
