German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul on Monday accused Russia of “dangerous provocations” against European allies and vowed that NATO would remain united in countering such threats.

At a joint news conference in Warsaw with his French, Polish and Ukrainian counterparts, Wadephul said Russia's latest drone incursions into Poland and Estonian airspace violations constitute "a new wave of hybrid attacks" against NATO countries.

"These actions aren't coincidental, but part of a pattern targeting our airspace, critical infrastructure, and defense readiness," Wadephul said. "Russia is testing our resolve and attempting to sow unrest. This dangerous behavior requires a clear and unified response," he added.

Germany's top diplomat emphasized that NATO allies will remain united against Russian "provocations" and will take steps to strengthen their military capabilities, particularly in countering potential drone incursions.

"NATO is vigilant at all times, capable of action at all times, and protecting every inch of our alliance territory. No member state will be left alone to face these threats," Wadephul stressed.

"We must further develop our capabilities, react more quickly, and network our systems even more closely. This is a central issue for the defense of NATO's eastern flank. And we will work with all our might to ensure that Europe remains protected," he added.

Earlier this month, several NATO allies—including Poland, Romania, and Estonia—reported drone incursions and airspace violations. NATO officials claimed that many of these incidents originated from Russia. Moscow has denied violating Estonian airspace, claimed the Polish incident was accidental, and attributed the Romanian accusations to Ukrainian provocations.
