ISTANBUL

France on Friday called on its citizens to avoid travel to Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank due to the security concerns regarding Iran.

"Due to the security situation in Iran and its possible local repercussions, French nationals are reminded that travel to Israel, Jerusalem and the West Bank remains strongly discouraged, including for tourism and family visits," a Foreign Ministry statement said.

It warned of possible airspace closures, flight cancellations and delays for several days depending on developments across the region.

"French nationals currently present in the area are advised to exercise the utmost vigilance and caution, to strictly avoid any demonstrations or gatherings, to identify individual and collective shelters, and, where applicable, to follow the instructions of the local authorities," the ministry added.
