CMA CGM Kribi passes strait after departing UAE, tracking data shows
LONDON
A container ship has become the first vessel bound for Western Europe to pass through the Strait of Hormuz since the start of the US/Israel-Iran conflict, according to vessel tracking data.
The Malta-flagged CMA CGM Kribi departed from Ghantoot Port on the Persian Gulf side of the United Arab Emirates and transited the strait on Friday, data from MarineTraffic showed.
The vessel, which listed its destination as “France-owned,” was in the Gulf of Oman after completing the passage.
CMA CGM is a France-based global shipping company operating around 700 vessels worldwide.
