British MP breached parliamentary rules for not disclosing all-expenses-paid trip to Israel: Report
Parliament's standard commissioner found Peter Prinsley failed to declare 5-day trip organized, funded by pro-Israel lobby group

LONDON
A UK Labour Party MP has been found breaking parliamentary rules for failing to declare a five-day trip to Israel in May that was funded by a pro-Israel lobby group, according to a report.
Parliament's standard commissioner said Peter Prinsley, 67, from Bury St. Edmunds & Stowmarket, breached Rule 5 of the code of conduct for members by failing to register an interest within the 28-day timeframe set by the House of Commons.
It came after the commissioner opened an inquiry July 24 following a report by investigative outlet Declassified UK about the lawmaker's failure to register the interest about his trip to Israel, along with other lawmakers, from May 25 - 29, organized and funded by the pro-Israeli lobby group, Labour Friends of Israel (LFI).
The 13-page report by Commissioner Daniel Greenberg, dated Aug. 29, noted that Prinsley acknowledged and apologized for the breach
"I and my office will take the necessary administrative steps to ensure that future interests are registered on time," Prinsley said in his letter to Greenberg on Aug. 7, as revealed in the report.
The LFI regularly takes lawmakers, peers and journalists on trips, which it said are designed to "show solidarity" amid Israeli assaults on the Gaza Strip, where Palestinians are facing an Israeli-designed famine.
On Aug. 22, the UN-backed hunger monitoring system, Integrated Food Security Phase Classification, confirmed that there is famine in Gaza.
Israel has killed more than 63,600 Palestinians in Gaza since October 2023. The military campaign has devastated the enclave, which is facing famine.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Israel also faces a genocide case at the International Court of Justice for its war on the enclave.
