Bomb threats across North Macedonia schools declared hoaxes
Interior Ministry confirms threats were false, urges public to remain calm amid misinformation concerns
SKOPJE
Bomb threats sent to numerous schools across North Macedonia have been confirmed as hoaxes.
Following an investigation into the threats, sent via email to multiple schools in the capital Skopje, as well as in Kumanovo, Stip, Ohrid, and Tetovo, the Interior Ministry announced Friday that they were false.
Classes in some affected schools have resumed.
The ministry also urged caution against misinformation and disinformation, calling on citizens to remain calm.
North Macedonia previously experienced a wave of fake bomb threats targeting schools and public buildings in the fall of 2022.
