IBC SOLAR’s Czech Republic subsidiary has contributed to the implementation of the biggest photovoltaic roof-top system in Poland on a hospital roof, the company announced on Friday.
IBC SOLAR is a German-based corporate group with subsidiaries in Austria, the Czech Republic, Italy, Netherlands, China, India, Malaysia, Chile and Turkey,
According to the director general of the company's Czech Republic subsidiary, the installation should be regarded as a pioneer project in Poland to raise awareness of solar energy in general.
"Poland may not have the best irradiance values, but at present, any kind of best practice for photovoltaic installations, like the hospital project, would help to break ground and raise public interest in eco-friendly energy production," said Jakub Halamicek, the director general of Czech Republic.
The hospital project, which represents a start in generating eco-friendly energy production, with a 237 kWp installed capacity, will produce 198 MW hours of electricity annually which will be used for the hospital's consumption.
IBC SOLAR provided the know-how and technical expertise to the Polish installer PPHU JAMBUD. The company will be largely responsible for reliable yields within the next 20 to 30 years of its operation, he stated.
Poland's energy focuses on fossil fuels to date, nevertheless, as an EU member country; they have to meet EU requirements regarding renewable energy and carbon emissions reduction.
"In particular, the potential for using roofs for decentralized photovoltaic production is the key to reaching this goal," Halamicek said.
"The company has publicly announced recent projects in emerging markets like Japan and India and we hope that will be sharing similar information about our photovoltaic projects in Turkey very soon," he stated.
He concluded that “investing in a 25-30 year long project requires reliability and a quality focused conscious.”
