The movement for climate justice is growing daily across the globe, environmental 350.org movement said Wednesday in a statement.
"On World Environment Day we must look after each other and for the world that sustains us," Hoda Baraka, 350.org chief officer said.
"We see people standing up to change their communities, to hold polluting corporations to account, and to change the policies of their governments," Baraka said. "Across the globe, the movement for climate justice is growing daily.”
Across the globe World Environment Day is being marked by celebrations and events, with calls for faster and fairer climate action, according to the statement.
350.org, which was found in 2008, is an international movement addressing environment/climate change with the aim of lowering atmospheric carbon dioxide.
The number '350' was named after 350 parts per million which is the safe concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.
