Global Lithium Resources announced on Monday that it has received a 21-year mining lease for its flagship Manna Lithium Project in Western Australia, marking a key milestone toward development of the site.
The approval, granted by the state's Minister for Mines, Petroleum and Exploration, follows the company's recently signed Native Title Mining Agreement with the Kakarra Part B Native Title Group.
The company said the granting of the mining lease significantly de-risks the Manna Lithium Project and accelerates its progress towards a Final Investment Decision (FID), following the optimization of the project's Definitive Feasibility Study that remains on track for the end of the 2025.
"This achievement, coming so soon after the successful Native Title Mining Agreement, validates our focused strategy and the diligent work of our team and partners," Global Lithium Managing Director Dianmin Chen said.
The Manna Lithium Project is the third-largest lithium resource in the Eastern Goldfields, holding a mineral resource of 51.6 million tonnes at 1% lithium oxide.
Global Lithium said it has the potential to boost Western Australia's position in the critical minerals industry and grow into a major producer of spodumene.
