The fund management company of the world's largest sovereign wealth fund, Norway's Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM) has appointed three additional top team members on Wednesday.
The NBIM said three women were appointed in leadership roles in different sectors of the $1 trillion fund.
Carine Smith Ihenacho was appointed as Chief Corporate Governance Officer, Hege Gjerde will take a role as the Chief Financial Officer, and Sirine Fodstad was selected as Chief Human Resources Officer.
The bank noted that good corporate governance; sustainable business practices and well-functioning markets are essential to safeguard the fund’s wealth for future generations.
"Our responsibility as owner and our work with corporate governance, sustainable business practices and well-functioning markets is extensive and important, and calls for a dedicated area of responsibility in the fund’s leader group," according to Yngve Slyngstad, chief executive officer of NBIM.
The appointments are effective from Jan. 1, 2018.
