The data shows that Turkey's overall import bill, including energy and other items, totaled $19.02 billion in December, with energy accounting for 19.08% of the overall import figures.
Although the overall energy import bill fell last month, the country increased its crude oil purchases.
The country's crude oil imports showed a nearly 22% rise over the same period compared to December 2018.
Turkey imported approximately 2.57 million tons of crude oil last month, up from 2.11 million tons during December 2018.
