Türkiye's BIST 100 index ends midweek with losses
Benchmark index loses 170.8 points at closing session
ISTANBUL
The Turkish benchmark stock index closed Wednesday at 11,359.01 points, down 1.48% from the previous close.
The BIST 100 index, after starting the day at 11,561.73, fell 170.8 points from the close on Tuesday.
The lowest point for the index was 11,359.01, while the daily high was 11,565.02.
During the day, 82 indexes lost in value while 17 closed with gains.
The daily transaction volume reached 134.7 billion Turkish liras ($3.28 billion), while the overall value of the index was 10.55 trillion liras ($257.69 billion).
The USD/TRY exchange rate was 41.0445 as of 6.40 pm local time (1540GMT), the euro/lira exchange rate stood at 47.6830, and the British pound traded at 55.3170.
The price of an ounce of gold was $3,389.05, while the barrel price of Brent oil was $66.95.
