ISTANBUL
Turkish modular manufacturer Karmod has exported insulated fiberglass water tanks to Germany for use in industrial production, the company said on Monday.
The 25-ton insulated water storage tanks were delivered to the town of Balzheim to meet the demand of a facility producing cooling systems.
Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod’s plastics group, said the company was extending its expertise in liquid storage tanks to customized manufacturing.
“With polyester, polyethylene and stainless steel material alternatives, we are able to respond to special requests,” Ozturk said.
“Our insulated fiberglass water tank model is used as part of production processes in industrial plants. With insulated piping connections, it provides long-lasting solutions for cooling machine systems used in manufacturing,” he added.
Ozturk noted that as part of the project, the company produced three customized tanks, each with a capacity of 25 tons, for a German cold storage manufacturer.
The tanks were reinforced with 10 layers of resin and 50 millimeters of foam insulation, and the insulation was further strengthened with an additional polyester layer, he said.
The final stage included a UV-protected gelcoat.
Each tank was equipped with 8 DN100 flanges and will serve as a key component of the plant’s cooling systems, he concluded.
