Oman Air extends cancellations on 7 routes until April 15 over regional airspace closures
Omani national carrier says flights to Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Copenhagen, Baghdad, Khasab to remain suspended, while Amman and Dammam services will resume on April 1
ISTANBUL
Oman Air said Thursday that flights to seven destinations will remain cancelled until April 15, due to the ongoing regional airspace closures, while services to Amman and Dammam are set to resume on April 1.
The Omani national carrier said through US social media company X that the affected routes are Dubai, Bahrain, Doha, Kuwait, Copenhagen, Baghdad, and Khasab.
It added that passengers with affected bookings can manage their reservations through its website or mobile application, while the rest of its network continues to operate as normal.
The disruption comes as airlines across the region and beyond continue to adjust schedules because of the ongoing armed conflict in the Middle East, involving Iran, Israel, and the US, which has led to repeated airspace closures and widespread operational disruption.
Large parts of airspace in Iran, Iraq, Kuwait, and Syria remain closed, while Bahrain, the UAE, and Qatar have also faced restrictions, according to aviation risk monitors.
Regional escalation has continued to flare since the US and Israel launched a joint offensive on Iran on Feb. 28, so far killing over 1,340 people, including then-Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Tehran has retaliated with drone and missile strikes targeting Israel, along with Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf countries hosting US military assets, causing casualties and damage to infrastructure while disrupting global markets and aviation.
