New York Stock Exchange ends week with losses
Dow down 0.04%, Nasdaq falls 0.09%, S&P 500 slips 0.03% after Christmas holiday
ISTANBUL
The New York Stock Exchange closed the week lower in the first session after the Christmas holiday break.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average dropped slightly by 0.04%, or 20.19 points, to close at 48,710.97 points.
The Nasdaq fell 0.09%, or 20.21 points, to 23,593.01, while the S&P 500 lost 0.03%, or 2.11 points, to 6,929.94.
Stock markets in the US, which were closed Thursday due to Christmas, traded lower Friday.
Analysts pointed out that trading volumes remain low in the markets after the Christmas holidays.
On the corporate side, tech giant Nvidia gained 1% after it announced a licensing agreement with chip startup Groq for inference technology.
