Karmod has exported debris chutes designed for high-rise construction projects to firms operating in Dubai, the company said Friday in a statement.

Talay Ozturk, general manager of Karmod Plastic Group, emphasized the importance of debris chutes in reducing construction-related accidents in high-rise buildings.

"With our debris chute system, we have significantly reduced the risk of accidents caused by waste removal operations in high-rise construction sites," he said.

Highlighting the chute's durability, easy installation and practical use, Ozturk added, "Since introducing these plastic debris chutes, their use in Türkiye has rapidly expanded due to their excellent contribution to workplace health and safety. Previously, waste materials from high floors posed serious risks as they were often disposed of directly from great heights without control, leading to potential accidents. The debris chute has eliminated these deadly risks. Its robust design, practicality, and ease of use have accelerated its adoption within the industry."

Ozturk emphasized that the reusable debris chute system has become indispensable for construction firms.

"The modular, conical-shaped design of the debris chutes allows easy assembly from the top floor to the ground, with openings on each floor to facilitate debris disposal. Adjustable installation ensures compatibility with various floor heights, and the system can be repeatedly dismantled and reused across multiple projects. Its compact, nested design enables easy storage," he explained.

Manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE), the debris chute is characterized by its lightweight yet high-impact resistance.

"HDPE is an environmentally friendly and sustainable material that is fully recyclable and reusable," Ozturk noted.

"We have successfully introduced the widely-used Turkish debris chute system to the UAE, enabling Dubai’s high-rise construction projects to benefit from these advancements. The exported chutes will be employed in a new 96-story skyscraper project," he concluded.
