Air France announced Thursday that the company is investigating a data breach and warned its customers of possible phishing attempts, broadcaster BFM TV reported.

The airline announced that it was investigating "fraudulent access to the data of some of its customers," giving assurances that no sensitive data such as passwords, travel data, passport or credit card numbers were disclosed.

Although the number of people affected by the data breach was not specified, Air France said it is currently contacting customers whose data may have been accessed.

According to an email sent to a customer on Wednesday evening seen by BFM TV, the compromised data may include first and last names, contact details, and the content of email inquiries.

The airline further urged affected customers to "be extra vigilant if they receive suspicious calls or emails," warning that the data breach could make them targets for phishing attempts.
