Sotheby’s to hold $141M Modern, Contemporary Art Sale in London Art handlers hold ‘Self-Portrait’ by Francis Bacon, estimate: £8,000,000 - 12,000,000 during a photocall at Sotheby's auction house ahead of Modern & Contemporary Evening Sale, with artworks worth in excess of £110 Million coming together for auction on the 4th of March, in London, United Kingdom on February 26, 2026.

Sotheby's will hold its Modern and Contemporary Art Evening Sale on March 4 at its London headquarters, offering works valued at more than £110 million ($140.8 million).

The auction house presented highlights during a preview ahead of the sale. Among the leading lots is a “Self-Portrait” by Francis Bacon, estimated at £8 million to £12 million.

A quartet of works by Claude Monet, Paul Signac, Edgar Degas and Fernand Leger, with a combined high estimate of £24 million, will also headline the evening auction.
