An art exhibition, titled Posters to the Olive Tree of Exile, will open in London on Jan. 15, shedding light on the destruction in Gaza following the Israeli attacks that began in October 2023.

Organized by P21 Gallery and Saka Sanat, the exhibition features work by artist Yusuf Aygec and will be open to art enthusiasts through Jan. 30, 2026, at the London-based gallery.

Curated by Samed Karagoz, the exhibition centers on themes of memory and witnessing, contextualized by international human rights organizations’ assessments of Israel’s ongoing attacks as acts of “genocide.”

Many of Aygec’s featured works are inspired by the poetry of Mahmoud Darwish, widely regarded as the national poet of Palestine.

The exhibition emphasizes the ethical role of art as a space of testimony in the face of the humanitarian catastrophe caused by Israeli attacks on Gaza.

Israel has killed more than 70,000 people, mostly women and children, and injured over 171,000 others in attacks in Gaza since October 2023, which have continued despite the truce.
