Turkish movie to compete at Milano Film Festival

Turkish movie "The Butterfly's Dream," directed by famous Turkish filmmaker Yilmaz Erdogan, has been nominated to run in the Milano International Film Festival in three categories.

The films, actors-actresses and directors to compete for awards in the festival have been announced on Wednesday.

"The Butterfly's Dream" ('Kelebegin Ruyasi' in Turkish) will run in the categories of "Best Acting Performance Female" with starring actress Belcim Bilgin, along with "Best Production Design" and "Best Music."

The film already won the "Public Choice" award in World Soundtrack Awards 2013.

"The Butterfly's Dream," depicting Turkey of the 1940s as well as the days of mobilisation during the Second World War, was released on February 22.

Portraying two young poets' struggle with life and love, the movie stars famous Turkish actors and actresses, Kivanc Tatlitug, Belcim Bilgin, Mert Firat, Zeynep Farah Abdullah and Yilmaz Erdogan.

The Milano International Film Festival was first held in 2000 and has been organized since then as an annual international cinema exhibition.

The 14th edition of the festival will be held between May 8-18.
