Turkish prefabricated building manufacturer Karmod said on Friday that it produced modern taxi stand cabins in the Sarikamis district of country’s eastern Kars province.

The cabins were manufactured as part of a project launched by Sarikamis Municipality to renew taxi stands in the district and were handed over ready for use.

Karmod Cabin General Manager Zekai Kucuk said the company designs modern taxi stands used in many provinces across Türkiye to provide taxi drivers with comfortable resting and waiting areas.

Kucuk noted that the taxi stand cabins installed in three stations in Sarikamis were produced with special insulation suitable for the district’s altitude of around 2,000 meters, ensuring a warm waiting environment in harsh winter conditions.

He added that each structure is designed according to its intended use and the specific climatic characteristics of the region.

Karmod produces ready-to-use, prefabricated and mobile taxi stand units ranging in size from 6 to 32 square meters, with various intermediate options.

Some models include mini kitchens and toilets, while electrical and water installations are delivered fully completed. Climate control can be provided through air conditioners and electric heaters, he added.

Kucuk said that within the scope of the municipality’s renovation project, the cabins, produced under Karmod’s Metrocity model, have been installed at three different taxi stands in Sarıkamış and are now in service.
