A media delegation from South Africa, who is in Turkey as part of a program by Yunus Emre Institute, visited Anadolu Agency’s headquarters in capital Ankara on Wednesday.

The Yunus Emre Institute’s program is part of its works on cultural diplomacy.

South African delegation was received at Anadolu Agency headquarters by Mehmet Ozturk, the agency’s foreign language services editor-in-chief; and Hasan Oymez, the editorial director of the Turkey News Department.

Ozturk briefed the delegation about the activities of Anadolu Agency, its goals, international structure, operations and languages of broadcast.

Oymez also informed the media members about the defeated coup attempt by Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETO) in Turkey on July 15, 2016.

He said the terrorist organization gives an impression abroad that it is as an "army of education."

The delegation was also given the book prepared by Anadolu Agency titled “Minute by Minute FETO coup attempt,” which covers the chronology of the defeated July 15 coup and its aftermath.

FETO and its U.S.-based leader Fetullah Gulen orchestrated the defeated coup on July 15, 2016, which left 251 people martyred and nearly 2,200 injured.

It also has a considerable presence outside Turkey, including private educational institutions that serve as a revenue stream for the terrorist group.
