Turkish Communications Directorate signs agreement with Azerbaijani media agency
MoU envisages strengthening existing cooperation in digital, social media, strategic communication, crisis management
ISTANBUL
Türkiye’s Communications Directorate on Friday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Azerbaijan’s Media Development Agency within the scope of the International Strategic Communication Summit (STRATCOM) 2026 in Istanbul.
According to a statement from the directorate on US social media company X, the memorandum was signed by Communications Director Burhanettin Duran and Ahmad Ismayilov, chairman of the Media Development Agency of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The memorandum envisages strengthening existing cooperation between Türkiye and Azerbaijan in digital and social media, audiovisual media, strategic communication and crisis management, Duran said.
The parties agreed to establish a joint working commission and permanent committees within the Türkiye-Azerbaijan Joint Media Platform.
The platform aims to strengthen integration between the media of the two countries, ensure accurate public information and jointly combat disinformation.
