Turkish defense firm Nurol Makina, a key producer of armored land vehicles, is expanding its presence in Indonesia by supplying its NMS 4x4 light armored vehicle to the country’s elite special operations forces.

The firm showcased its NMS 4x4 at the Indo Defense expo held in Jakarta this week, marking its third participation in the event, Mehmet Corbacioglu, Nurol Makina’s business development director, told Anadolu.

He stated that last year, the company made a deal with Indonesia’s Mobile Brigade Corps, also referred to as Brimbob, for deliveries to the country’s elite special ops unit. The firm showcased the unit’s vehicle at the event.

“Additionally, the army has made requests for our vehicle, and we will follow up on our discussions after the event,” he said. “We signed with Indonesia after Malaysia—Nurol Makina’s presence is growing each day.”

Nurol Makina currently operates around 80 vehicles in Indonesia under its contract with security forces.

The NMS 4x4, known as Yoruk in the Turkish market, is designed to provide high mobility and protection for security and military units, offering superior ballistic and mine resistance compared to other light armored vehicles. It features a modular design, allowing for flexible configurations as a combat vehicle, personnel carrier, air defense platform, or reconnaissance vehicle in high-intensity combat zones.

The vehicle is equipped with 7.62 mm and 12.7 mm weapon systems and reaches a top speed of 140 kilometers per hour (87 miles per hour).
