Militants open fire at police station near Turbat city of Balochistan province, police tell Anadolu
ISLAMABAD
At least five people, including a policeman, were killed in a militant attack on a police station in Pakistan's southwestern Balochistan province, a police official told Anadolu on Tuesday.
"At least five people including our police personnel have been killed while another civilian was wounded as militants opened fire at Nasirabad police station," Nadar Shah, a local police officer told Anadolu over the phone.
All the civilians were laborers from the northeastern Punjab province who were living inside the police station compound, he said.
On Oct. 14, at least six laborers from Punjab province were killed during a militant attack and later the government provided police protection to all laborers from other provinces working in Turbat.
"We provided accommodation to construction workers inside our police station after Oct. 14 attack and today four of them have lost their lives during a militant attack on the police station," Shah said.
