Earlier, country stopped issuing passports over reported technical issues
KABUL, Afghanistan
Afghanistan Wednesday resumed distributing passports five months after service problems were suspended due to "technical problems.”
According to the Passport General Directorate, the technical problems have been resolved and the distribution of passports will resume.
Afghans who went to directorate branches formed long lines to get new passports.
Earlier, the Taliban interim administration had announced that it would resume passport distribution across the country on Wednesday.
