ISTANBUL
Three people were killed as a military building in Russia’s northwestern Leningrad region collapsed, the regional governor said on Tuesday.
"As a result of clearing the debris at the site of the partial collapse of the administrative building in the military unit in Sertolovo, the bodies of three victims were found," Aleksandr Drozdenko wrote on Russian social media platform Max.
He added that specialized equipment was working on the site and investigation continued.
Drozdenko earlier said he had ordered law enforcement agencies to assist the military in clearing debris and rescuing victims from the collapsed structure.
He said the incident took place in the town of Sertolovo, situated in the north of St. Petersburg, and units from the emergency services were on the site.
