WORLD FENCING CHAMPIONSHIPS BEGIN IN ANTALYA
ANTALYA - The World Fencing Championships have begun in southern Turkish province of Antalya.
Muminhan Bilgin, chairman of the Turkish Federation of Fencing, told a news conference on Wednesday that the championships were taking place at the Antalya Expo Center and would end on October 8.
Bilgin told reporters that 1,100 fencers from 85 countries are competing in the championships. The events will be broadcast in 32 countries.
Women's sabre and men's foil eliminations will be held during the first three days of the championships.
