TURKEY CELEBRATES VICTORY DAY, AUGUST 30

ANKARA - Turkey celebrates the 87th anniversary of the August 30 Victory Day on Sunday. Chief of General Staff Gen. Ilker Basbug and his delegation visited the mausoleum of Ataturk, the Founder of Republic of Turkey.

TURKEY CELEBRATES VICTORY DAY, AUGUST 30

A parade was held at the Ataturk Culture Center in Ankara. President Abdullah Gul, Turkish Parliament Speaker Mehmet Ali Sahin, Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Gen. Basbug and other state officials observed the parade.
The parade ended with a performance of "Turkish Stars", the aerobatic team of the Turkish Air Force.
Ceremonies marking the Victory Day were held across the country as well as in Lefkosa, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
