Abandoned helicopter waits for pilot in Turkish field

BOLU (AA) - Farmer Saban Acikgoz has been waiting for the owner of a helicopter which has been resting on his field for two years in Nallihan district of Ankara province.

Acikgoz told AA he has been planting only on a part of his farm due to the helicopter in the middle of the field.

"The event occurred in June 2012. From that day to now, nobody called and said, 'the helicopter belongs to me.' I cannot plant my field due to the helicopter. Who landed this helicopter on my field, why has he landed on it, to whom does it belong? Nobody knows," he said.

Noting his difficult living conditions, Acikgoz indicated he is losing around 10 thousand Turkish Lira every year because of the helicopter.

"I am afraid that the helicopter will burn when my crops burn. Whoever the owner of the helicopter is should come here and take it out from my field," said the farmer.

Acikgoz said he would not take any responsibility for any damage to the helicopter.

Sedat Celik and Ergun Acıkgoz, who gathered mushrooms around the area, found the partially damaged helicopter on the field two years ago.

According to the conducted research, there is no information on who owns the helicopter and how it landed on the field.

"G-CCWJ R44 clipper II  CITY&DOCKLANDS GROUP" is written on the helicopter.
