War in Ukraine detrimental to all parties: US Vice president
JD Vance suggests Western aid packages cannot overcome Russia’s military superiority

ISTANBUL
US Vice President JD Vance urged immediate peace talks in Ukraine on Thursday and warned that the conflict harms all involved, including American interests.
"We believe the continued conflict is bad for Russia, bad for Ukraine, and bad for Europe. But most importantly, it is bad for the United States," Vance wrote on X, emphasizing the need for swift peace negotiations.
The vice president highlighted the strain on US resources, citing depleted military stockpiles and more.
Vance claimed the war could have been prevented under Donald Trump's leadership, criticizing the previous administration's approach: "Neither Europe, nor the Biden administration, nor the Ukrainians had any pathway to victory."
Vance noted that the US maintains "substantial" leverage over both parties to facilitate peace talks.
He suggested that Western aid packages cannot overcome Russia's military superiority, and that talking with parties is the way out of the conflict.
