US lawmaker Greene hits back at Trump over 'traitor' remark, points to his pro-Israel lobby donations
US President accuses Greene of abandoning 'America First' agenda, while congresswoman counters by highlighting Trump's pro-Israel donor ties
ISTANBUL
US Republican Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene on Monday criticized President Donald Trump for calling her a “traitor” and accusing her of not putting American interests first, pointing instead to the large sums in donations he has received from pro-Israel lobbying groups.
Greene responded on the US social media company X to Trump’s remarks about her posted a day earlier. In her message, she shared two infographic images published by a social media account that tracks the lobbying activities of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
Comparing the two visuals, Greene highlighted what she described as “Israel lobby donations” made to Trump, adding, “I AM AMERICA FIRST.”
One of the graphics showed that Greene received zero dollars from AIPAC, while the other indicated that, as of January 2025, Trump had received $230 million in contributions from pro-Israel interest groups.
On Monday, Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform that Greene was “a traitor” with a “low IQ,” accusing her of failing to prioritize US interests.
"The only reason Marjorie 'Traitor' Brown (Green turns Brown under stress!) went BAD is that she was JILTED by the President of the United States," he said, claiming that Greene no longer represents the “America First” or MAGA approach and has shifted her positions too quickly.
