Trump to address economy, war in Ukraine, border security in major speech: White House
'The theme is the renewal of the American Dream,' says White House spokesperson

ISTANBUL
US President Donald Trump will deliver a high-stakes address to Congress on Tuesday night, focusing on the economy, the war in Ukraine and border security, among other issues, the White House announced.
The speech, set for 9 p.m. Eastern Time (0200GMT Wednesday), marks his first joint address since the beginning of his second term.
“The theme is the renewal of the American Dream. And the renewal of the American Dream is underway already,” said White House spokesperson Karoline Leavitt, who previewed the speech on Fox News.
She highlighted Trump’s accomplishments in his first month, including economic reforms and border security measures.
Leavitt added that Trump will address the “economic mess” left by the Joe Biden administration and outline plans to end the war in Ukraine and secure the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip.
“He’s also going to make an ask of Congress tonight,” she said. “We need more border funding to continue with these deportations that have been incredibly successful because of the efforts of this administration,” added Leavitt.
The speech comes as the Trump administration has prioritized strict immigration enforcement, rapid deportations and increased border security funding.
On Ukraine, Trump has repeatedly expressed his intention to broker a peace deal, though the process is unclear following Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's controversial trip to Washington last week.
Trump vowed to “tell it like it is” and make “big” announcements during this address.
