US President Donald Trump is in “excellent health,” and “fully fit” to carry out his presidential duties, according to a memo released on Sunday by the White House physician.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, exhibiting robust cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and general physical function,” said his doctor Capt. Sean Barbabella, summarizing the results of the president’s annual physical examination.

Noting that Trump’s active schedule contributes positively to his well-being, Barbabella said: “President Trump’s days include participation in multiple meetings, public appearances, press availability, and frequent victories in golf events.”

“President Trump exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health and is fully fit to execute the duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” he added.

The exam included a range of diagnostic and laboratory tests and consultations from 14 medical specialists. Barbabella also confirmed that Trump has scarring on his right ear as a result of a gunshot wound sustained during the assassination attempt in Pennsylvania last July.

Neurological tests assessing the president’s mental status, nerve function, and reflexes showed no signs of depression, anxiety, or sensory or motor abnormalities, the memo said.

At 78, Trump became the oldest person elected president when he won the 2024 election in November.
