Milei, known for his libertarian stance and anti-system rhetoric, has frequently used a chainsaw as a symbol of his promise to slash Argentina’s bloated bureaucracy and introduce economic reforms aimed at cutting government spending.
In a video shared on his X account, Milei greets Musk by saying "Hello, friend! How's it going?"
"The chainsaw has arrived at DOGE," he adds, referring to the Department of Government Efficiency, which Musk heads.
Musk accepted the gift with a smile.
US President Donald Trump appointed Musk to lead DOGE, a commission created on the president’s first day in office with the stated aim of eliminating wasteful spending.
