The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has confirmed the killing of one of its three workers who were abducted in Nigeria’s northeast in March.

Saifura Hussaini Ahmed Khorsa, a health worker with the ICRC, was abducted in the northeastern town of Rann during a raid by Boko Haram militants.

The militants had, earlier on Monday, released footage of her beheading following what a hooded militant called the failure of the Nigerian authorities to meet its conditions.

“The International Committee of the Red Cross condemns in the strongest terms the tragic killing of its abducted colleague Saifura Hussaini Ahmed Khorsa,” Eloi Fillion, ICRC chief in Abuja, said in a statement Monday night.

The ICRC listed other abductees as Hauwa Mohammed Liman and Alice Loksha, a nurse working in a UNICEF-supported center.
