UNITED NATIONS (AA) - Secretary General of United Nations Ban Ki-moon called Tuesday for maximum restraint and the pursuit of constructive dialogue in order to resolve differences and avoid further violent confrontation in Turkey's Gezi Park incidents.
Ban continued to closely follow developments in Turkey and remained concerned about ongoing clashes between protesters and security personnel in Gezi Park incidents, according to a statement by Ban's spokesperson.
"The Secretary-General urges maximum restraint and the pursuit of constructive dialogue in order to resolve differences and avoid further violent confrontation. He believes that stability is best assured through such dialogue and when the rights to peaceful assembly and the freedom of expression are fully respected," the statement stressed.
