Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha on Tuesday welcomed Sweden’s new $116 million winter support package and Luxembourg’s expanded military assistance, saying the contributions will bolster Ukraine’s resilience as it faces another harsh winter and Russian attacks.

Sybiha said the Swedish package will “strengthen Ukraine’s energy resilience, accelerate the repair of critical infrastructure, and support key sectors,” stressing that Stockholm’s solidarity reinforces “the security of all Europe.”

He also voiced appreciation to Luxembourg following Defense Minister Yuriko Backes’ announcement of an additional $17 million for the PURL initiative.

In a separate message, Sybiha praised Luxembourg’s role as co-lead of the IT coalition which supports Ukraine's armed forces with Estonia, calling the assistance “timely and well-appreciated.”

The PURL initiative is a US-NATO program that allows European and Canadian NATO member states to fund the purchase of American-manufactured weapons for Ukraine.
