Two more people have died as anti-government unrest continues across Venezuela bringing the death toll to at least 33 people.
Local media say 26-year-old protester Argenis Hernandez died of gunshot wounds which he received during a confrontation at a demonstration in the central city of Valencia and died later in a nearby hospital.
A second man, 31-year-old Wilfredo Rey, was shot and later died of his injuries in the western city of San Cristóbal. A motorcyclist he was reportedly not taking part in the protests, but was hit when protesters squared off with what local residents described as 'hooded gunmen' at a demonstration in the city.
The Andean country has endured almost two months of unrest after student protests against the socialist President Nicolás Maduro in the west of the country spread east, including to the capital, Caracas.
Reports say 'thousands' of government opponents took over a wealthy area in Caracas to demand the release of students detained by security forces loyal to the government during the unrest, but they were later dispersed by National Guardsmen.
Protesters are demanding the resignation of President Maduro over economic chaos in the country, which has seen world-topping rates of inflation and the unavailability of basic products. They have also demanded a response to soaring levels of crimes and murders, and that the government put an end to limits on freedom of speech.
