Turkey has been contributing to Ukraine's development through its aid agency in many areas, particularly in the education and health sector, as part of its foreign policy vision.

Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TIKA) provided infrastructural support to the philology faculty of Ivan Franko National University in Lviv --Ukraine's cultural capital -- as part of its education projects.

Speaking at the inaugural ceremony of the renewed faculty, Haci Bayram Bolat, TIKA's program coordinator in Ukraine, underlined the importance of cultural cooperation between the two countries.

"I hope the university will contribute to strengthening ties between Ukraine and Turkey as well as to the revival and preservation of our common cultural heritage located in Western Ukraine," Bolat said.

During the ceremony Vladimir Melnik, rector of Ivan Franko National University, expressed his gratitude for the support of TIKA to the Philology department.

Additionally, as a part of TIKA's health sector projects in the country, TIKA made renovations and supplied medical equipment at the Melitopol Hospital, which has provided health services to approximately 156,000 people.
