Turkey's prime minister said on Saturday that the number of observers to be sent to Syria was insufficient.
Premier Recep Tayyip Erdogan said more observers should be sent to Syria.
"I think that more observers, maybe thousands of observers, should be sent to Syria," Erdogan told reporters in Doha, Qatar.
Erdogan's remarks came before the United Nations Security Council unanimously adopted a resolution to establish a 300-member observer mission in Syria.
Turkey to continue backing least developed countries
Turkey would continue to back the least developed countries, Erdogan added.
Premier Erdogan stressed to Turkey's strong support to the least developed countries had an important place in its international development initiatives.
"We will continue to support least developed countries and voice their problems in every occasion and platform with determination," Erdogan said during the 13th United Nations (UN) Conference on Trade and Development in Doha, Qatar.
