Turkey’s Humanitarian Relief Foundation (IHH) distributed food to people in need in Colombia for the month of Ramadan.

Speaking to Anadolu Agency, IHH’s Europe-America Desk member Emre Coban said more than 90 food packages were distributed in the city of Medellin, while an iftar (fast-breaking) dinner was organized for 150 people.

He added that around 230 food packages were also distributed in two mosques -- Istanbul and Abou Bakr -- and at the Al-Qurtubi Islamic Center in the capital Bogota, where an iftar dinner for 550 people was organized.

Imam of the Al-Qurtubi Islamic Center Lyes Marzougui said through these aids, the IHH showed that it did not forget the people in need and Muslims in South America.

Last year during Ramadan, the IHH provided aid to many Latin American countries, as well as Colombia.
