BAMAKO
A state of emergency continues in the Malian capital of Bamako as the French military intervention in the country has left behind its third week.
Tight security measures have been taken in Bamako and the majority of the residents are trying to follow developments in the country's north.
Police officers located in various centers of the city stop all suspicious vehicles and check them.
Police officers can be seen in almost all corners of the city.
Malian gendarmery forces are on duty on highways and connection roads and they question individuals who come from out of Bamako. Security forces conduct search in all vehicles considered suspicious.
Routine check-ups could be seen for all exits from and entries into Bamako.
Although press members have permission documents, they are not permitted to take photographs or record videos.
