At least 65 people, including eight children and six women, were killed during air and ground operations carried out across Syria on Tuesday by forces loyal to Syrian President Bashar al-Assad's regime, opposition activists claimed.
Assad forces killed 20 people in Aleppo, 14 in the suburbs of Damascus, 11 in Hama, seven in Daraa, six in Idlib, five in Homs and two in Deir-ez Zor, according to the London-based Syrian Network for Human Rights.
Meanwhile, Syrian government's official news agency SANA claimed security forces "neutralized" a large number of armed groups during operations in Hama, Homs, Idlib, Daraa and in the suburbs of Damascus.
More than 100,000 people have been killed during the ongoing three-year conflict in Syria, which has also internally displaced more than 6.5 million people, according to the UN.
More than two million Syrians are now registered as refugees in neighboring countries, including Turkey, Lebanon, Jordan and Iraq.
