BEIRUT
Syrian Foreign Ministry spokesman Jihad Makdisi parted his ways with the Syrian regime and left for London after defecting from Syria.
Makdisi went to London by a plane which took off from Beirut today, Syrian National Council spokesman Mohamed Sermini told AA on Monday.
Sermini said that Makdisi and his family had defected to Beirut two days ago, and stayed in a friend's house until his plane took off for London today.
Hamza Yusuf, one of the Syrian opponent leaders, also told AA that Makdisi would make a statement soon, and announce that he parted his ways with Assad regime.
Meanwhile, Damascus administration claimed that Makdisi was discharged from the office.
