Syrian state television on Thursday announced that Syria and the United Nations (UN) signed a preliminary agreement for the cease-fire protocol.
The El Ahbariya television channel said Thursday that Syrian Deputy Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad and UN official Guha Abhijit signed the preliminary agreement at the Foreign Ministry in Damascus.
The TV channel did not give any details about the agreement.
Joint UN and Arab League's special envoy on Syria Kofi Annan's spokesperson, Ahmad Fevzi, said that the agreement aimed to support an end to clashes and to implement the six-point Annan Plan.
