Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas's special envoy Nabil Shaath has said that Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu's visit to Gaza would be a good step for solidarity with the people of Palestine.
Shaath, also a member of the central executive board of al-Fatah, told AA correspondent on Tuesday about Davutoglu's Gaza visit would be beneficial for solidarity with Palestinian people.
Shaath said that previously there were no many these kinds of visits during war time and added that Turkish fm's visit would be the first. He said, "This visit; in the framework of giving support to Palestinians may bring new signals to the unity of Arab and Islam world."
Shaath said that Israel's attack on Gaza was show of strength ahead of the the elections that would be held in January 2013.
He also added that with their latest attacks, Israel is trying to "ratten" Palestine's UN membership initiative.
Moreover, he said that Israel's attack on Gaza would speed up the agreement process between al-Fatah and Hamas. He said, "It is our main mission to unite as soon as possible. I think, the most important outcome of these vigorous attacks on our territory will be the success of our agreement."
